Three research papers published on arXiv address different aspects of large language model development and application.
LLM-FSM for Hardware Design
According to arXiv abstract 2602.07032v1, researchers introduced LLM-FSM, a benchmark designed to evaluate how well large language models can recover finite-state machines. The paper states that “finite-state reasoning, the ability to understand and implement state-dependent behavior, is central to hardware design,” positioning this work at the intersection of AI and hardware development for RTL code generation.
Diffusion Models for Search Agents
A second paper (arXiv:2602.07035v1) presents DLLM-Searcher, which adapts Diffusion Large Language Models for search agents. According to the abstract, diffusion LLMs offer “unique efficiency advantages, enabled by their inherently parallel decoding mechanism and flexible generation paradigm,” addressing recent advancements in search agent technology.
Token-Level Model Collaboration
The third paper (arXiv:2601.05106v2) introduces FusionRoute for token-level LLM collaboration. The research notes that while “large language models exhibit strengths across diverse domains,” achieving strong performance across multiple domains with a single general-purpose model “typically requires scaling to sizes that are prohibitively expensive to train,” motivating the exploration of collaborative approaches.
