Perplexity Unveils 'Perplexity Computer,' a Unified AI Platform for End-to-End Project Management

Perplexity AI launches 'Perplexity Computer,' a new unified platform designed to manage projects from research to deployment using multiple AI models.

Perplexity AI, known for its conversational answer engine, has announced the launch of “Perplexity Computer,” a new unified AI platform aimed at consolidating various AI functions into a single system for comprehensive project management. The company describes it as a “general-purpose digital worker” capable of handling projects from conception through completion.

Unveiled on February 25, 2026, Perplexity Computer is designed to streamline workflows by integrating research, design, coding, deployment, and ongoing project management within one system, eliminating the need to switch between multiple services. According to Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas, the team had been working on this development for two months, calling it “the next big thing.”

A key feature of Perplexity Computer is its “massively multi-model” approach. Instead of relying on a single AI model, it leverages an orchestration layer, initially powered by Claude Opus 4.6, to delegate tasks across 19 different specialized AI models. This includes models like Google’s Gemini for deep research, Nano Banana for images, Veo 3.1 for video, Grok for lightweight tasks, and ChatGPT 5.2 for long-context recall and extensive web searches. This allows for greater versatility and precision, matching each task to the model best suited for it. Users can also take on an orchestrator role, assigning specific subtasks to particular models.

The platform operates within a secure development sandbox, a design choice intended to prevent any security vulnerabilities from affecting a user’s primary network. Perplexity has been utilizing Computer internally since January, reporting its use in diverse tasks such as publishing engineering documentation, creating large spreadsheets, developing websites, dashboards, applications, analyses, and visualizations.

This launch signifies a notable expansion beyond Perplexity’s initial focus on AI-powered search. The company has also recently introduced Perplexity Patents in late October 2025 and an in-app shopping feature for U.S. Pro users. Perplexity has also shifted its revenue strategy to a subscription-centric model, moving away from advertising.

In a significant partnership, Samsung is integrating Perplexity into its Galaxy AI ecosystem as a voice-activated assistant, accessible via the wake phrase ‘Hey Plex’. This integration is expected to be part of the upcoming Galaxy S26 devices, embedding Perplexity’s AI agent across various native Galaxy apps, including Samsung Notes, Clock, Gallery, Reminder, and Calendar, as well as select third-party applications.

Perplexity Computer is initially available to Perplexity Max subscribers, priced at $200 per month, with plans to roll out to Pro ($20/month) and Enterprise subscribers in the coming weeks. It can be accessed on the web at perplexity.ai/computer.
