OpenAI Responds as Musk-Altman Trial Enters Second Week

OpenAI fired back in court as Elon Musk's lawsuit against the company continued, with new details emerging about Musk's past recruitment efforts.

According to MIT Technology Review, the second week of the trial between Elon Musk and OpenAI saw OpenAI mounting its defense against Musk’s allegations. Shivon Zilis revealed during proceedings that Musk had previously attempted to recruit OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, adding a new dimension to the case.

Last week, Musk testified that Altman and OpenAI president Greg Brockman had deceived him into donating $38 million to the company, MIT Technology Review reported. The trial, described as landmark, has put Musk’s motivations for bringing the lawsuit under scrutiny as OpenAI presents its counterarguments.

The case centers on Musk’s claims regarding his substantial financial contributions to OpenAI and the circumstances under which they were made. As the trial progresses, both sides continue to present evidence related to the early relationship between Musk and the AI company he helped co-found.
